Author Linda Herron wrote this story to help young twins embrace the first time they are separated.
This is Linda's personal story as she had an unknown illness in 3rd Grade, which had her take a special bus while her twin walked to and from school. In the Herron family, the story was and is told from a sweet perspective over and over. For instance, “I ran all the way home to beat the bus to see you, or I peered out the bus window looking for you.”
After the story was written, it was apparent to Linda that it needed to be told.
